Dirinya memastikan bahwa ia masih akan mengambil peran sebagai algojo jika Manchester United mendapatkan penalti nantinya, karena ia bertekad menebus kesalahannya yang baru saja ia perbuat.
Di laga kontra Arsenal kemarin Rooney sesungguhnya berpeluang menggandakan keunggulan MU menjadi 2-0 sayang tembakannya masih menerpa mistar saja, beruntung skor tetap 1-0, jika tidak mungkin ia akan dihujat.
"Tentu saja saya akan mengambil penalti di Chelsea jika saya mendapat kesempatan," kata Rooney.
